PPFC Season 1
The Pantry Pokemon Fight Club is a draft league hosted by Don Shnack on his discord server. It started back in 2021, mainly with our small group of people on his server at the time. Season 1 consisted of 24 players, ranging from seasoned veterans to first ever draft. For my first draft ever, I did pretty well! I came in second within my group, and getting to round two of playoffs. My team felt okay to use, but definitely was weaker in comparison to the more seasoned draft players. Learned that trying to evenly distribute my points gave me a competent team, but struggled against teams that had multiple top tier pokemon.

- Personal Standing: 5-2 - 5th in Playoffs
The Squad
Cinderace (Scott Sterling)
The ace of the team. Never used him prior to this draft, but libero seemed too good to pass up. Missed way too much for my liking though...
KOs: 6 | Faints: 3 | Appearances: 6
Slowking (Slowpoke PhD)
One of the supportive walls of the team. I love the new teleport mechanic, plus regenerator, thing never dies. Just didn't have a good matchup in a lot of battles.
KOs: 1 | Faints: 0 | Appearances: 2
Weezing-Galar (Doug Dimmadome)
One of the main walls of the team. Neutralizing gas and misty terrain were great options as abilities. Lack of recovery though was a bit of a pain.
KOs: 5 | Faints: 3 | Appearances: 5
Venusaur (Brute Root)
Was to help cover some of the typings that Cinderace couldn't handle. It worked, but not as well as I was hoping for.
KOs: 1 | Faints: 2 | Appearances: 3
Krookodile (Bayou)
Loved bringing this guy, STAB Earthquakes and Intimidate/Moxie are such good abilities. He would chip down foes for others to sweep.
KOs: 0 | Faints: 2 | Appearances: 4
Cobalion (Cobalt)
An odd pick, was a bit of a mixed attacker/utility pokemon. Mainly used him for pivoting and dealing with fairy-typed pokemon.
KOs: 2 | Faints: 0 | Appearances: 2
Noivern (Wyvern)
I wanted a fast pokemon, but it was getting pretty late in the draft. Noivern looked fun for speedy Tailwinds, Trick, and pivoting. Which he did exactly that!
KOs: 1 | Faints: 2 | Appearances: 2
Umbreon (Luna)
The other main wall of the team. Umbreon just never dies, and wish-passing was super useful for keeping Weezing alive. Toxic stall Umbreon is hated for a reason, but I love him.
KOs: 4 | Faints: 2 | Appearances: 5
Golisopod (CrabClaw)
Traded Mantine for Golisopod partway through the season, as my team was just too passive. Not a fan of Emergency Exit, but this guy sure packs a punch with First Impression!
KOs: 2 | Faints: 0 | Appearances: 2
Celebi (Flux)
Celebi was fun to use as a sweeper. Would often Choice Spec/Scarf it and watch it tear through teams. It got walled a bit, but not without dealing some damage.
KOs: 3 | Faints: 3 | Appearances: 4
Rotom (Sears)
While Rotom didn't come often, he was suprisingly useful in the matches he came to. The ghost typing was really handy for blocking Rapid Spin, and Trick is just too fun.
